We are so lucky here at Wordsworth House to be situated in one of the most beautiful towns on the Jurassic Coast.
And our Carehome is situated high at the Durlston end of Swanage, close to Peveril Point and Durlston Castle.
The views are spectacular and from almost any point in Swanage you can see the infamous Old Harry Rocks.
Swanage is surrounded by beautiful villages such as Corfe which of course is famous for it’s castle and thatched cottages.
Studland is just over the hill with it’s stunning beaches and heath land, also famous for Fort Henry which was a main look out during WWII and played a major part in the preparations for the D-Day landings.
Kingston and Worth Mattravers are also close by are are full of real village history as if time has stood still.
Swanage is of course home to it’s steam train line and train station. The train will take you along to Corfe via the beautiful Purbeck countryside.
In December they run the “Santa Special” where passengers are in for a real Christmas treat!
With St Nick onboard with presents for the kids, it really is a journey that shouldn’t be missed.
For a more in depth view of what Swanage have to offer, please visit the official tourism page where you can find lots to do and see more stunning images of Swanage and it’s surrounding countryside and villages.
But I’m sure that you will agree.
Wordsworth Care Home really is situated in a beautiful seaside town, and yes, we and our residents really are that lucky.
