October saw another busy month for activities. We were joined by our local vicar Andy on halloween for his monthly service. We had nearly a full house for Andys hymn service where the residents sang and joined in the prayers although this is offered every month not everyone wishes to join in as there are many different faiths and its an individuals choice. This months outing was to putlake farm as a special request for a birthday and although a bit chilly the goats were fed and tea and scones were enjoyed. We would like to say a big thankyou to putlake farm for your hospitality and making our residents very welcome.
The residents also enjoyed a movie afternoon watching Fury with brad pit which was again another request after there visit to the Tank Museum.Movie afternoon was enjoyed with fresh fruit and popcorn which went down a treat. The 12th of October saw the team wearing pink to raise money for breast cancer awareness as
well as selfie day to celebrate national photography appreciation day thankyou to all the team who wore pink. We also enjoyed the usual activities make it bake it eat it aswell as scrabble and yes tracie won a game whoo hoo. With it being Halloween we couldnt let the month go without some pumpkin carving aswell as a halloween themed pamper day.
We would also like to say a very big thankyou to Magdalena Atkinson who we enjoyed for the first time this month with her interactive musical workshop.Magdalena had the ability to engage all our residents in the room with various musical instruments and singing we loved her and will be booking Magdalena again HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any care home.
so until next time please have a safe fireworks night.
Best wishes from all the team at Wordsworth House.
