Wednesday 14th September saw our second fabulous trip to Bovington Tank Museum. We left Wordsworth House at 11.30 to arrive at the tank museum just in time for lunch.Lunch was provided by our fabulous chef Shaun who catered for everyones specific diets.
After lunch we checked into the Tank Museum and explored all it had to offer including the interactive machinery and the trenches. All our residents enjoyed there day with it providing a great reminisance tool taking alot of them back to the war years some often remembering there fathers as well as there childhood years. Activities would like to thank all the staff who gave up there day off to come and help with the trip it allowed us to take more residents. We would also like to thank the Swanage disabled club for the use of there bus and the fabulous Robin and Susan for there help and providing a great service.I would also like to thank Brian Frost our activity co-ordinators husband who works at the tank museum for allowing one of our residents special access to the Sherman Tank used in the film Fury with Brad Pitt. This brought back lots of memories for him and made it a very special day.
We hope you enjoy reading our blogs and look forward to our next adventures
